Highlights Research BP 6

Trade Liberalization. Agricultural diversification faces several challenges not least of which is the effect of trade CAES: 25th West Indies Agricultural Economics Conference, Suriname, August 2004 Agricultural Diversification in St.Kitts — Opportunities and Challenges 26 liberalization on the open market that exists in St. Kitts. The importation of relatively cheap agricultural products from either highly subsidized producers or low cost producing countries makes it extremely difficult for farmers to compete on the domestic and export markets. This is particularly so for livestock products including poultry, mutton, pork and beef. As a result there is an oversupply of local beef despite significant levels of importation and a failed broiler industry although large volumes of poultry meat are imported. Import Preferences.

There also appears to be a preference by importers and consumers for imported produce and this is particularly so for livestock products. Apparently importers enjoy a higher markup on imported produce compared with when purchased locally and consumers generally pay a lower price. There is also a preference in the hospitality sector for imported produce and penetration of some markets is extremely challenging. Water. Limited access to water for supplemental irrigation is a major limiting factor to increasing agricultural diversification on St. Kitts.

There are no surface catchments due primarily to the sandy nature of the soil and the water harvested is mainly used for domestic, tourism and industrial activities. As a result agricultural production is mainly rainfed and the period of harvest is generally restricted to the first half of the year.

BP 5 Revision

The author of Cotton Candy is trying to tell us that during the Cuban revolution many people had their dreams shattered. This is illustrated by a girl named Lola who too has a desire to sexual know a man. At one point she considers getting to know her cousins to get a relationship. Close to end she watches animals mating still wanting her desires.

Little Cog-but is about a parent Moria who is from England and moves to Dominica. The Author is from Dominica and moves to England. Moria doesn't want to help the Dominica kids because she misses her kids 3,000 in boarding school. Wanting to be with your kids isn't wrong. Moria wants to be with her kids so that she can teach them her way. She doesn't know what the broader is teaching her kids. Moira wants to be the first teacher in her kid's life.

Lola is 15 years that has a long desire in her life. She had an interest in 6 boys which are Donato, Domingo, Dionisio, Daniel, Danilo, and David. Just like the Cubans, they to wait a long time but the Cubans finally got their desire. Now the poor will have a better life at the end. Even today the US and Cuba don't have any diplomatic relation mainly because of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

BP #3 Late Aaron

Historical text of Guadeloupe

Aaron Cameron
Dr. Harris
English 1102
1/29/19

The author conveys the message by  using spiritual figures to mean never judge a book by its color.
"The devil comes to Tetiyette as a nice young man dressed in a well looked suit" pg. 2 with evil intention of trying to eat her soul. this is an example of personification and hyperbole (Tetiyette and the Devil pg.2).  This is symbolic of how the devil can transform himself into an angel of light according to the bible.

The purpose is for young girls in Guadeloupe to listen to their parents, think twice before getting or having sexual intercourse with a man just based on how he looks. In Guadeloupe the Bel-air drum is used when a male and female want sexual desires for each other. Bele https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C3%A9l%C3%A9.28 October 2018, at 21:42

The audience is for young teenagers girls in Guadeloupe. Be aware of the devils that are roaming around in your neighborhood trying to be fertile with you at your young age where sex hormones are
the strongest as teenagers. This could also apply to young males as well.
