The author of Cotton Candy is trying to tell us that during the Cuban revolution many people had their dreams shattered. This is illustrated by a girl named Lola who too has a desire to sexual know a man. At one point she considers getting to know her cousins to get a relationship. Close to end she watches animals mating still wanting her desires.

Little Cog-but is about a parent Moria who is from England and moves to Dominica. The Author is from Dominica and moves to England. Moria doesn't want to help the Dominica kids because she misses her kids 3,000 in boarding school. Wanting to be with your kids isn't wrong. Moria wants to be with her kids so that she can teach them her way. She doesn't know what the broader is teaching her kids. Moira wants to be the first teacher in her kid's life.

Lola is 15 years that has a long desire in her life. She had an interest in 6 boys which are Donato, Domingo, Dionisio, Daniel, Danilo, and David. Just like the Cubans, they to wait a long time but the Cubans finally got their desire. Now the poor will have a better life at the end. Even today the US and Cuba don't have any diplomatic relation mainly because of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
